Selling

Step 1. Create your user account.

Step 2. Search for the card you wish to sell.

Step 3. Specify the condition of the cards, quantity and price. It is recommended that you sell at SCG 1:1 or CK 1:1 unconverted. If you only have a few cards to sell please consider selling at less that those prices as most buyers like to order multiple cards at a time and will need a little incentive to buy from you. If you are selling cards from a freshly released set be aware that prices drop fast and you will need to update your prices as they drop. If you add cards on release day don't be suprised when they don't sell 3 months later when the price is now 25% of what it used to be.

Step 4. You will be notified when someone buys cards from you.

Step 5. Package your cards and send to the buyer.

Step 6. Mark the order as Sent.

Terms and Conditions

To list a card for sale you must have it in your possession ready for shipment. If you sell or trade a card outside of Trade Magic you must remove it from this site immediately. If you receive an order for a card that you do not have it may cause the order to be cancelled. Cancelled orders will reduce your seller rating.

Your Trade Magic account will be credited when you mark orders as sent when the buyer selected postage as Regular, Priority, or Express

For orders that have postage set as "... with Signature "or "... with Tracking" your account will be credited when the buyer confirms arrival of the cards.

You can transfer money from your Trade Magic account to your bank account at any time by clicking on the Balance button, supplying your bank details and confirming your login password. Funds should arrive within 1 to 2 business days.

There are no Trade Magic fees for cashing out.

There are no account setup fees.

There are no fees for listing your cards for sale.

There are no cashout fees.

Trade Magic takes 5% commission on the cards you actually sell. Example: you sell cards for $13. Trade Magic will take $0.65. You do not pay commission on the postage component of an order.

If you have an order for a card that you have either lost or sold elsewhere you will need to do one of the following:

Option 1 Cancel the order: If the order is for a single card, or you can't find all the cards on an order then your only option is to cancel the order. When you cancel the order the buyer will automatically be refunded. After cancelling the order remove the cards from your inventory.

Option 2 Refund the amount of the missing card: Offer the buyer a refund for the missing card if you can still ship the rest of the order. Refunds can also be used to combine postage on two orders, or any other reason you need to compensate the buyer. You cannot refund the full amount of an order.

Shipping

Postage costs are based on Australia Post published rates. Up to 20 cards can be sent per regular envelope. Up to 75 cards can be sent by Express envelopes.

When you buy from new sellers or from sellers who have a history of shipments becoming lost, you will only be able to select postage with Tracking or with Signature. This is to protect you. The highest level of protection that Australia Post offers is Person to Person. This service requires the receiver to present ID that matches the delivery information. Please check Australia Post for more information.

Australia Post offers a product called Domestic letter with tracking. It is a pre-paid envelope that you can buy from your post office. The product features tracking and free insurance for the first $100. It is cheaper than sending with registered post. Keep the tracking code (its on the green "Sender to keep" label) and enter the code on the order so that both you and the buyer can see where it is.

It is highly recommended to hand over all tracked letters inside the post office so that the item is immediately scanned as sometimes no scans can occur up until delivery day which half defeats the point of tracking.

All cards should be sleeved. This is mandatory.

Use an envelope such as size C6 which is suitable for postcards. Address it to the seller and put your return address on the back before inserting the cards.

Always add an extra card or two to help protect the cards you are selling (ie basic lands)

Ideally use top loaders to protect expensive cards. Tape sleeved cards to a piece of cardboard such as an A5 size from Office Works which can be folded over in half and fits neatly inside the envelope adding extra protection to the cards on both sides.

These are guidelines only. Just be sure to pack the cards in a way that gets them delivered undamaged.

Sometimes people get so excited to get their new cards that they just forget to mark them as received, or they are still sitting in their mailbox. Please send them a message asking them to do so.

Searching

Type or paste the card name into the Search for a card... input box at the top of the screen.

When there are multiple results the latest print will be the first in the list.

When there are multiple prints in the same set the regular version is the default and an option called All Versions is displayed. When selected all versions of the card will be displayed so you can choose the correct version.

The Bulk Search funtion can be found in top left dropdown menu. It will allow you to search for multiple cards at once by pasting a list of cards into the input.

Formats accepted are:

  • Card name only
  • MTGO decklist format
  • Arena decklist format

The Advanced Search funtion can be found in top left dropdown menu. It will allow you to filter cards by set, rarity and foil. You can also sort the results by clicking on the headings to sort by card name, seller or price.

Card Grading

A Mint card is in absolutely perfect condition. It must have no marks, no scratches, and be clean. It is not recommended to use this card grade but to use Near Mint instead to avoid issues. The price difference is little to none.

A Near Mint card looks like it has never been played or has been played in a sleeve. The card should look as though it came fresh out of a booster. The border can have a small white mark but it must be very small. The card must be clean. No scratches are permitted.

An Excellent card looks like it might have been played without sleeves or was mishandled when opening the booster. Although the card is clearly not perfect, the damage is very minor. Excellent cards usually have more than one small white spot on a corner or elsewhere on the border. The surface may have minor scratches that are not obvious at first glance. Sometimes a card from a booster draft can get this level of damage from being passed around.

A Good card looks as though it has definitely been played without sleeves. Cards in Good condition usually show wear all over the card. The edges and corners have many white spots and the surface may have scratches or a little bit of grime on it. The card should have no water damage and no bends.

A Light Played card looks as if it has been used without sleeves far too often. While nobody would be very happy about sleeving this up for a tournement it should still be legal. It can not have been touched up in any way with ink or written on.

A Played card looks as very bad from regular use without sleeves. Played as in it's been played and should be played no more. Probably not tournement legal even if sleeved. It can not have been touched up in any way with ink or written on.

A Poor card has damage so bad that nobody should ever want it. Certainly not legal for tournament play. Something horrible has happened in the cards life. The dog ate it, the baby got sick on it, it became a paper plane. Anything goes here no matter how traumatic.
